How Does It Work?You play 3 songs initially and build up your base score. Then the next round you will go head-to-head with another team except it won't be your normal head-to-head match-up. You'll select a song, and they'll select a song. You play your song as well as your opponent's song and they do the same. This way, there is absolutely no way anyone can cheat and everyone gets a fair crack at their best song. You keep advancing further and further until we have our finalists for the Roxy. The Top bands from the preliminaries on October 4th, 2008 - consisting of competitive, non-competitive and corporate teams - progress to play a real concert onstage at the prestigious Roxy Nightclub on November 6th, 2008. Finalists will be judged on technical skill, creativity, stage presence, score and difficulty level. You're in the running for over $5,000 in prizes, so why not give it a shot? We'll see you there! Preliminary Round - EA's Main Gaming StudiosWhen: October 4th Preliminary Round, November 6th Grand Finale Tournament DivisionsDivisions are available for all types of players, whether you play on easy, medium, hard or expert. Players of all ability are encouraged to participate and we will have a top prize for each division. All players are encouraged to fundraise for the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Competitive: Compete for the title of 'Best Rock Band In BC.' Practice makes perfect. Only one team can come out on top, so will it be you? Get out the garage and bring it on. Social: It doesn't matter if you've been playing for one week or one hundred. The non-competitive division lets you play at your leisure without having to worry about pressure. You can still advance to the Roxy Nightclub to perform live, but you're going to have to be pretty damn special. Corporate: You may be successful in the corporate world, but are you as competent at Rock Band? Show off your versatility and put the other teams out of business. 18 & Under: This division is for all our young up and coming rockers. Talk to your mates at school, put in a team, bring your friends to EA and compete for prizes and the trophy for the Best Rock Band in BC. About Make-A-Wish Foundation of BC & Yukon:Our mission at the Make-A-Wish Foundation® is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses to enrich the human experience with hope, strength, and joy. The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of BC and Yukon was the first Canadian Chapter of the Make-A-Wish Foundation®. Since 1983 we have granted more than 1,000 wishes for children in our region. This year we hope to grant between 80 and 100 special wishes. The Chapter was founded by Nigel Brown and Robb Lucy who were inspired by a TV story on Make-A-Wish America's launch in Phoenix and decided to start up the Make-A-Wish Foundation® in Canada. |
